Built in the field, for the people in it.
WILD stands for Wildlife Intelligence & Land Dynamics. It started with a simple question: why does the best wildlife knowledge never get written down?
The gap
The people with the most field time weren't in the room.
In ecology school, co-founder Jackson Graham kept seeing the same split. Researchers had the rigor, but their studies often ran a couple of weeks, and big conclusions rested on that short window. Meanwhile his hunting friends were in the woods all season, every season — and almost none of what they saw was ever recorded.
The method
Small, frequent and cheap beats big and rare.
Jackson's own research project sampled plankton in the Gulf from a small boat. The lesson wasn't the catch, it was the method: small samples taken often build a real baseline over time, better than one big expensive trip you extrapolate from. Hunters are already that fleet. They just never had the tool.
The principle
You first. The science comes along for free.
WILD has to be worth it to the hunter on day one — a faster log, a clearer season, a better-run club. You log because it makes you a sharper manager of your own ground. Combined and de-identified across many members, those same logs become a picture of wildlife no short study could draw.
What we won't do
- WILD won't tell you where or when to hunt. It shows you your own history and leaves the call to you.
- We don't sell your records or run ads.
- Your spots stay private unless you choose to share them.
